Beginners and experienced skiers can enjoy themselves to their heart's content from the beginning of winter up until Easter on ca. 50 km of well prepared runs in the border area between Bavaria and Tyrol. Both the "Kaiserwinkl" ski regions "Unterberg" and Zahmer Kaiser use a common ski pass.
Through its construction and the situation of its downhill runs, the cable station "Unterberg" is a central point in the whole of the "Kaiserwinkl" region.
The lower station of the "Unterberg" is located only 350m from the campsite. A comfortable cabin for up to 6, takes between 1200 and 1600 persons per hour to a height of 1 700m above sea level. Whether you are a skier, a carver or snowboarder, you'll find a choice of runs ranging from "blue" to "black".
Kössen is also a great place for young kids wanting to learn to ski. Professional instruction is at hand. The ski school and ski rental are located next to the station, 350 m from the campsite.
The ski centre "Zahmer Kaiser" offers a total of 10 different downhill runs most of which are classified as "easy", being ideally suited to kids and beginners alike. 4 sledding tracks offer other winter enjoyment.
Taking a break is always necessary. "Kaiserwinkl" has a lot of traditional ski huts and apres-ski possibilities to offer!
